Keukenhof to Zandvoort

The bulbs are as wonderful as you would expect. The place is incredibly well organised. Easy parking. Plenty of loos and benches and places to eat 
Then thanks again to the lovely lady on Waze came to the enormous Palace hotel in Zandvoort
 The bad is going to be a bit of a challenge at night.
I'm all set up to play bridge this evening.
The beach is miles long with restaurants all along it
 I mean restaurants not fast food cafes. Very different from my last holiday in Saudi which were all the latter.
Drove through bulb fields you could call it monoculture. Then very upmarket area with beautiful houses and gardens I think for the wealthy from Amsterdam which is not far away. In fact everywhere I have been is only an hour or less from the last place.
The beach has a promenade for miles it's just sea and sky
 No junk at all

 Month started off with warm weather and a thunderstorm by the 2nd. Ophelia had to make a themed bake so this is her Jonah and the whale - with a bit of help. I took the books up to the kids school - five for each class. Felt like a nice thing to do. Have painted some quite different pictures. Also taken one French one to be expensively framed and chap said it might sell. Jen was 80 so good party held in the Forbes pub in Ham. Horrific happenings between Israel and Hamas and the poor people in Gaza have been besieged.  Poor in every way.  This is some sort of genocide when the PM of Israel calls the Gaza people beasts. They live in a ghetto . Terrible terrible things going on from massacres to hostages. Ukraine has dropped off the news. At least we can watch the rugby world cup. Quarter finals coming up. Had a good days painting today from the top of a cliff over looking a waterfall and turquoise pool. Manet painted the bathers. This is my pic of the painters. Then with another painter, Cecile, a psychoanalyst, we went back to valensole to find Jean Nicholas Gerard.  Got some nice pieces. Two pics. o Of the 16 People here , of which I  am the oldest, there are 6 smokers all young, or seemed so. They smoke at the table which is less than pleasant. Luckily I have a separate room with an ensuite.  I have met three people before, last year which was nice to be greeted and a few do speak English  My French is better but no good for a conversation.
