Leaving Riyadh and moving North to Buraidah

Enormous pro-Palestine march took place in London peacefully. Disruption came from right wing only. Situation in Gaza now virtually unbearable as the children say 'technically' hopeless.
Didn't sleep well. Trust Chris did better on the plane home.
Papadopoulos biscuits in  bedroom like the old days when they were a rare treat.
Noone walks anywhere and the distances are vast the pavements not condusive and the heat discouraging.

Typical scene and shows where we are second night.
Exchange rate is roughly 5R to the £. So my pringles, twix and espresso cost R13.
But there is also poverty in the city though looks like these areas are being demolished and replaced.
Went to the national gallery where there were lots of ancient pots then in the garden these flowers
A further historical stop at the fortress and I sat in a cafe. To his nice lady called me Mama and gave me coffee and a bottle of water.
Insisted on taking photos.
Long bus ride to a living heritage village, Ushaiger. It was dusk and I explored some of the little alleyways.

Some great doors.
Me on my phone. I could do with washing my shoes which are a bit smelly.
Visited a camel market in Buraidah then a date one.

The naughty ones have a front leg hobbled.
The little ones come from Sudan. They get marked but who knows what for. These are all for slaughter. A different auction takes place on Sunday for the special and racing ones. The whiter the better.

A very long bus ride to Hail. Some rain.
Roads are straight and always double sometimes triple carriageway.

Enormous apartment.
With a London bus which is like an Oxford open top bus and used in Medina.
Last pic from Hain. Top of the mountain.
Then cold shower and bed before 6 hour drive tomorrow.
