Actually in Devon then home

We are only 7, so lots of space and we started with charcoal dust. The subject is mountainous terrain.
Jenny and Sabine came for supper in my flat.
Day 2 and more experimenting.
Then a trip to Lympstone. Another of those villages on the water with tiny lanes. No parking and the car constantly beeping because the hedges are too close.
Old fishermen"s cottages all done up but it all felt like a prison and I needed to escape. So found another lane and took a quick snap of the estuary.
It looked rather like our paintings today.
Then this imposing front entrance.
Day 3
Using bright paper was a revelation.
The Otter .
Yesterday the verges were full of rape today all gone.
More charcoal this afternoon.
Drove up to Stocklands to see Tim and Pat. They told me the devastating news that George had a catastrophic accident and is now quadraplegic. Your life can change in the blink of an eye.
Day 4
Back to exploring.
All these lovely fake flowers. When put together they are so impressive. I'll come on a flower course one day.
Mixed palettes.
Then with this lovely bright palette I somehow produced these rather grim pictures.
Went to visit Sabine Nemet at her pottery in Newton Poppleford.
Part of her wood pile for the kiln.
Day 5
Our oils yesterday were described as disastrous so we started again today and much better.
Obeying his rules of horizontals and diagonals to create depth.
Then I saw this mist over the Otter. The temp has risen quickly to mid 20s.
Home by 6.30 to find Mark the plumber fixing the leaks. All my hot water was draining away.
Going off line now until Northern Ireland. But just these pics of this wonderful yellow rose.
And the rose Lisa gave me two years ago. Its going to be a wonderful year for roses and peonies too.
Family by the Parthenon. I was there in 1966.
