Bristol and Wales.

Began at Arnos Vale Cemetery then after long traffic queues got to the Archives where I found this. Our great grandfather's signature. How lovely, though it was on a plan for the new Gaol.
No photograph yet though.
Here is his great grandfather's will. He could not write and his great grandson could design great buildings.
And this is his home still standing. Next door to Toolstation.
A big house for a big family. Though oddly if you put in the address you get a different house.
Be interested to see the garden from Google earth.
I then went to the Jacobs Wells baths for the tour
They are keen for a plaque so I"ll get that done. I like to think that Josiah is remembered.
When it was used as a dance studio.

The Community used these baths until the 50s where there were people who did not have baths in their homes.
a tailor shop across the road.

Staying at the Marriott in town centre. Not luxury at all though the view from my 10th floor isn't bad. Quite a rough lot staying.
As the hotel was by the main shopping street took a look around and ended up getting an unusual dark green cord coat made locally
The area is called Cabot Square.
Met up with the people from thd old magistrates court.
The outside is all black and needs a wash then you enter into these amazing rooms with beautiful stained glass,  tiles and floors.
The arms mosaic in the old foyer.

Down to the cells.
Found Greatgrandfather Edwin Gregors Cemetery but no way to find the grave.
Then to thd Carlton hotel in Mumbles which is pretty awful. Quite clean but no facilities at all. Breakfast has to be had in a cafe somewhere. The street is very rundown and boarded up in places.
Not what it was at all when I came with Lisa about 12 years ago.
I'm actually the only person staying here. Not good at all though clean bed and bathroom but rather weird no one even on reception. Reminds me of that motel in Canada.
I didn't bring a book so will have to watch tv.
So then I did get a book but left it in the car.
As there was no breakfast here I drive up to the pier found a cafe there.
The palm tree gives the wrong impression.
Swansea Bay.
Took a trip past Havergal. Caswell Bay, Pennard then back to Mumbles for lunch with Robert and Chris.
Then supper with Gary and Jane and forgot to take a photo.
Left the hotel at 7am to find door open and bloke in dressing gown outside smoking or vaping. Glad to be on my way. Little traffic but plenty of showers.
The news is more about Andrew losing all his titles and the terrible situation in Sudan but great news about the grand museum opening in Cairo today.
Found Woolaston down this road.
And another part of the village and the school

Then to Alvington where many Thomas members were buried.
This one half buried stone which is typical
of all the old ones does possible have a connection as there is a Tingle in the tree, also Davis.
Then right at the entrance I found this large Thomas grave so will contact them.
On north to Ruardean. St John the Baptist soars above the village.
Note how the sky has changed.

The font where our ancestors were probably baptised Beautiful place to end your days.
