Fungi and an amphitheatre

Despite books, apps and flip charts we didn't ID any of these. This is tiny. Might be the same as first one. Even smaller. On chestnut tree. Growing on the wood chips in river garden, seems a perfect place, shady and moist I discovered the amphitheatre in Cirencester while visiting a picture framer nearby. It is the largest in Britain as Cirencester was once the second largest city in Roman times hence Corinium. Didn't venture down here with inappropriate shoes. ⁸

Rest of September

Spent the night at Leander for the Oriel crew reunion and this was the view at breakfast. I heard how important Roger had been to the college's  rowing club, that without his inspiration they don't believe they would have achieved the successes they did and went on to do. Nice words. Lisa sent me this picture of her getting dolled  up and wearing the necklace I got in Dresden and gave to Darcey. 55 years old. Amazing. I think this picture has been squeezed a bit. Also going through old posts I found some odd predictive words. Duolingo had been turned into Dublin go. When I once again download the whole lot there will be plenty of editing to do. Almost fruitless trip to London. After three hours to get to Marble Arch I walked to the Wallace Collection. Lovely old building and the Grayson Perry exhibition. Coln Valley Trail Run

This is sure to become an annual event.  With around 300 runners organised by Rob it is a great way to spend a morning. I was manning the cake stall.  We made around £500. Heath, Otis and Heidi all came 2nd in their age group with Heath also coming 2nd overall in the 5K. Tom is back to work after his double op and pain free after a steroid injection in his hip. While I was away the calves got in and ate a lot of roses, while breaking their stems. The hens have resorted to flying over the fence to get to my beds so have reduced one to grass but not very happy with them. They don't like flying back.
