1st August

Chris, the gardener for H and R, made these miniature gardens in the hollows in the top of the wall with a little chillie and some  baby cactuses (cacti).
They are about 8 inches high.
Found this in the kitchen sink and not happy. It is called a Scutigera coleoptrata and they have found their way over here from southern Europe as we get warmer. They eat woodlice which may explain why I have fewer this year but perhaps prefer the woodlice as at least I can pick them up. Would NOT pick this up. Had to ask Rob to come and dispatch it with Raid.
Then found it on the British Myriapod page as Species of the Moment!
Now I read that hens love them though not sure how I would get one to them.
Diana is covered in bites the thinks are bed bug bites from the trip to Cumbria.
