Awake at 1. Read the news, no emails or WhatsApp so a bit bored.
Now it's 7am. Got through the night with nothing untoward happening. I had put some washing out to dry only to find it is now covered in a light dusting of snow.
Had pancakes in Antogonish after a petrifying 100 km drive in snow and slippery roads through the forest.
Thankfully ok so far. Couldn't eat them so hit the road and the host here in Port Hawkesbury let me in early.
This is what I'm missing.
Had lunch of cinnamon bun a blueberry yogurt like I had for breakfast and a cup of coffee. Without a phone now that I have finished The Alchemist that I bought in Montreal I would be lost so look forward to Toronto and shops. Up here is quite back country and if you didn't know it was Canada you'd think you were in the Southern States- particularly the food, trucks and men's check shirts.
Some live music where I'm having supper.
Videos and sound don't really work on this blog or perhaps I have to work out how rather like the car so I listen to Waze for directions or my tinnitus then suddenly Sky News comes on otherwise my thoughts have to keep me on track. But mostly I'm concentrating so much on the road I don't notice the silence.
