18th with Jim and Ann

Waking up in this quiet peaceful place.
Found Margaret Meads autobiography and was reminded of her  compilation on life in Oak Ridge. It also once again makes me think about how I view anthropologist who see themselves as doing vital work studying what she calls primitive people yet condones anyone or group who try to change their life. But by doing the study alone they are interfering and showing these so called primitives another world espe8cially with cameras. And nowadays drones, etc.
There has recently been the case of a man trying to visit the tribe on a Senelese island he was lucky not to be killed.
Had supper at daughter Kate's house.
Anne with Jim and with Kate.

One of the bays along the way up north.
We stopped at a Heron nesting place.
Cowichen Bay.
Jim picks up an clears litter wherever he sees it.
A beaver dam.
Collecting water at a spring.
A salmon river.
Their house in the woods in Tofino right on the beach so hence the tsunami risk.
Our first sunset.
Jim lit the new wood burning stove and filled the house with smoke. Then K suggested that I have the heating switched on well that was a good idea as it is pretty chilly here at night still.
