Six Nations

As at end of week 5.
Ireland have won Triple Crown but won't win Grand Slam though still have a chance of Six Nations if they beat Italy hugely next week and France and England don't perform.
One hen has disappeared, not in the grain box this time. Though a fox? no one knows and no feathers around but hope she isn't locked away somewhere. She was the most adventurous and also the one that I think did the most damage to my beds.
In Canada Mark Carney has become the next PM, perhaps there will be an election while I'm there? There is further movement on discussions between Ukraine and the US though whether Russia is interested in peace, cessation of the war or a truce, etc remains to be seen.

Have had to drop the price of the bridge drive - not a lot of interest sadly - I didn't want people to think that it was "MY" drive - which it seems to be thought of by some. I note that a lot of people just want free stuff - so like when the summer party comes and it is free - everyone eats like they havent eaten for years - and Helen is asked constantly to do things - she needs a break - especially having fallen off - luckily not out of - a window today and hurt her hip. Tom also has a bad hip.
In the US more chaos - all very unstable and divisive for everyone. So I write poems instead. Here is the latest that still needs some work.

The River flows

The river flows

its met by the stream

together they float the weed

embrace the bank.

Ducks and moorhen dabble, dive and paddle.

One frog, head outstretched, swimming

downstream, legs kicking.

Water voles pop out of holes.

Kingfisher, heron and an egret

tiny minnows congregate to protect

in case a trout is about.

Grasses wave, reeds and purple loosestrife, yellow flags, mint

and marsh marigolds.

Wind ruffles the swan's feathers

 as she majestically glides

against the fast flowing, silvery current

the humped back of the cob as he feeds beneath the surface

is never far away.

and then this which I'm not sure I know the inspiration.

Is there help out there?

Are you there Giancarlo

The old man said

Please come and help me

get out of bed.

or maybe its Tommaso

or Max or Fred

who'll make my morning

tea and toast and egg.

Each day a different person

There are too many names

The old man can't remember

They seem to look the same

He tries his best

To put on his vest

But buttons now defeat him

Please come help me Ibrahim

They said they'd send

Someone called Svend

Perhaps Igor or Ilona

Could even be Konrad or Fiona.

Are you there Giancarlo?

I'm sorry if it isn't you

I'd really like some breakfast

Come and join me Angelou.
