19th to 21st June

Today registered 29 degrees here. I went for a swim in Cirencester but was warm again by the time I got to the car. Some more poppy varieties. And another multipetalled. The hellebore bed is now full I hope for the spring. And it's underside which is exquisite. Each one is different. Pool party for kids with cousins at Lisa. Not too hot but a lot of fun. Girls in the hot hot tub. Darcey has a job working in a local pub so didn't see her.

22nd June

Today marks perhaps a new and dangerous escalation of events in the Middld East as Trump ordered mass bombing of Irans nuclear sites.  I wonder if we will ever know if Iran even had weapon grade uranium Israel keeps killing people just waiting for food. Netanyahu is an evil man. I don't care what happens to Israel  now. So listen to the cricket and water the garden and made two cakes for the party though weather not looking great. England are battling to match Ind ia in the first test and the weather has cooled for a day after 33 yesterday.  First innings India lead by 6 runs only. While nearer home Oti made 39 and took 1 wicket.

Poppies

All these wild flowers were from seed I collected last year. The poppy varieties are amazing. Notice the white lines around the black inners. Without the white lines. Corn cockles filled a whole  bed. Didn t know this, melitus and good for bees. Even more varieties. Sold 5 paintings and two of Heaths. Happy with that.  This is what people think is a good place to park. Called anti-social behaviour as well as being illegally parked but who will do anything about it? All the poppies fall off every day. Taken at 8.11am today. Taken at 2.29pm today.  This morning they were covered with bees by the pm all gone.

Sale of paintings

The weather was not in my favour but did sell a couple one of which was Heaths kingfisher. Here arecthdvother three Bob Ross style ones they did. Heidi. Otis Heath. Now we will try with a different palette of colours. I gave three to the gardeners, threw some away and will take some to the recycling. However, it is always interesting what people like. I can't predict at all. Think I have had covid as had very sore throat and slept a lot and sneezed and hot a cold now. Testing seems pointless and where would you get the kit anyway.

3rd June

Very creaky bed but £15 including breakfast and a lift  and walk in shower no complaints. Found the Royal Court ruins not far away. Old printing presses with ancient books. It takes forever to print one page so just imagine how long to do some of these.  We came to Targovistri without any knowledge at all. Then we're advised to go to this palace in Potlogi. On the way there we passed enormous buildings and new solar farms with very tight security most likely data centres or high tech industries as the names suggested. A huge road programme underway too.

2nd june

Now it is getting too hot. Up to 28. In Targuvistri at the Valahia hotel at £15 a night each. Sheila was dressed for a hot safari. These are the repaired ruins of that Wallacian bishopric. Supper here.

1st June

Today is Children's Day in the whole country. We decided to take the Transalpine route south. Our first stop at Sugag alongside a river gorge. There was a little fruit market and a clothing one where I bought some socks. We were given a slither of this man's homemade cheese which we ate in the car when it was pouring with rain and there was snow on the mountain. We stopped here for a drink at Tau Bistra. These huge sheepskin capes are worn by the herders. The free bath caps have other uses.  And for holding our food that we take from breakfast. The river Jui on our way to Targa Jui. This town is famous for the sculptor Brancusi whose work I first saw at the Peggy Guggenheim in Venice. This is his Infinity Column. The university here in his name is the only state owned one. Not all houses are small and this is one on the pedestrianised street up to the monument by our Euro...
